1989
I begin primary school as part of the first generation of free Poland. The June elections and the formation of Tadeusz Mazowiecki’s government mark the beginning of a new chapter in the country’s history.

1990–1997
High school. Poland recovers from the Great Flood of 1997, joins NATO (1999), personal computers and the internet become widely accessible, and two new political parties—Civic Platform (PO) and Law and Justice (PiS)—are founded.

1997–2001

2001
I begin my studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Only weeks earlier, the September 11 attacks had changed the world.

2002–2003
The Rywin Affair dominates public life, while the final negotiations for Poland’s accession to the European Union are completed. The European Union referendum takes place in June 2003.

1 maja 2004
Poland joins the European Union. I am in my third year of painting studies.

2 kwietnia 2005
Pope John Paul II dies. A period of national mourning begins across Poland.

2005–2006
The Dialogs painting cycle is created in the studio at 6 Sienkiewicza Street in Toruń.

I graduate with a Master’s degree in Painting from the studio of Professor Jan Pręgowski, and complete my stained glass specialization under Professor Jan Rochecki.
